There he taught different grades at the Dutch-American school. Political circumstances made a further stay impossible and after returning to Holland in 1999, he started working in The Hague. He worked there for 17 years as a full-time classroom teacher in almost all grades. But working abroad was always something he wanted to do again and last year he had the chance to start up the Dutch school, Miraflores, in Panama. As principal/teacher of the school, he found out that he is a teacher with all his heart and soul and being a principal is not the position that gave him complete satisfaction. Johan is very grateful to be given the opportunity to follow his true passion and teach.
